We found Elysium while we search for WPF Metro style UI controls, it’s a great control library (or Metro style theme) lead and develop by afsherman. While the official documentation is not available yet, here’s our step by step guide to install Elysium 1.5 to WPF C# project using Visual Studio 2012.
1. Download Elysium
Download Elysium theme from codeplex using this link (This project is written based on Elysium 18049 commits). Extract the downloaded folder to your harddisk. You should be able to find the library under “\Deploy\Runtime\Elysium (x86)\Runtime\Elysium.dll” in the extracted folder.
2. Add reference of Elysium library
Open Visual Studio 2012, and create a WPF C# project as usual.
Right click on project’s “Reference” and add reference to “Elysium.dll” and “Elysium.Notifications.dll” (you can find the dll from the extracted folder earlier).
Add Tab at Visual Studio toolbox. Then, right click again then click “Choose Items”. Browse for “Elysium.dll” again.
From the Elysium toolbox tab, drag the ToggleSwitch control to MainWindow.xaml. Hit F5 to debug your first Elysium theme program.
We are working on an open source project using Elysium theme, visit codeplex project – winPOS, Open Source Point of Sale. Stay tune for the next blog post on how we use Elysium controls to implement Metro style UI to our POS. Thanks.
